Colorful Lantern Festival planned

CHINESE people value the diverse traditional customs during the Spring Festival, one of which is to celebrate the Lantern Festival. On this day people eat rice dumplings and gather to watch lanterns and exciting performances and this year Anting Town will put on a colorful show.
The performances for Lantern Festival will be launched from February 26 to March 29 in Anting, Huangdu and Fangtai. On February 26 and 27, an opera performance will be staged every two hours near the Yongan Tower of Anting Old Street. On February 28, there will be two parades with traditional colorful lanterns hung in the three places.
Folk artists from the city will set up stands on the Old Street and show their skills like moulding figures out of clay. The lantern show every evening will be the highlight. The Old Street will be shining with lanterns of various shapes and colors. Also staged will be traditional folk performances like dragon dances. And there will be fireworks during the evening of Lantern Festival.
The shows will be put on at Anting Old Street, Wenguang Central Square at the crossroads of Luyuan Road and Boyuan Road, as well as Taiyufang of Fangtai Town.
