THE construction of the Jiading Long-Distance Transportation Center will begin in the first half of 2009 and be finished in 2010. The new center will link Metro Line 11 and improve transport capacity.
Cart World open
The 2009 Shanghai International Cart World opened in Shanghai International Circuit on March 15. Young drivers became superstars for the day. Zhang Zhipeng won the championship of the first round.
Satisfaction rises
Shanghai citizens' satisfaction index with police was recently announced. In 2008, Jiading's index was No. 2 in the city, one place higher than that in 2007.
Skills match final
On March 21, the final match of the 3rd Shanghai Job Skills Competition of Secondary Vocational School was held in the Shanghai Dazhong Industry School. A total of 5,046 students from 78 schools had made it to the final from the qualifying matches.
Key medicine
On March 20, 14 medical specialties from nine hospitals in Jiading were named "key medical specialties of Jiading," involving internal medicine, surgery and pediatrics.
Aid for Xiaomiao
The Jiading Red Cross is busy with the charity event "Sending Love to the Country" providing Xiaomiao Village of Xuhang Town with medical services. Thirteen experienced medical volunteers from Jiading Central Hospital went to the village and offered consultations.
New name
On March 18, Waigang Town began to collect suggestions for a new name from the public. At the same time the Website of this activity (www.waigangtown.com) was launched.
