Construction takes its cue from Metro system

MAO Xiaobo, a 28-year-old advertising company employee, has worked in Jiading's Nanxiang Town for three years.

Now he decides to settle down in the suburban town, which is linked to downtown Shanghai by the Metro Line 11. The MCC Xiangteng City Square newly opened at the Nanxiang Town Metro station makes his life as convenient as in downtown city, he said.

Construction of commercial facilities is also in full swing along the other eight stations of Metro Line 11.

At the Jiading New Town Station, a city-level business center is being shaped.

A commercial complex, including a high-end commodity street, a hypermarket, a top-grade hotel, offices, a cinema and fitness clubs, is being built.

The first-phase residential project in the area is completed and construction of supporting commercial facilities has started.

Near the Anting station, the Life Hub @ Anting attracts more than 35,000 people every day. On Saturdays and Sundays the number is doubled.

On north of Malu Station, 45,000 square meters of commercial facilities are being developed and some will have the roof sealed by the end of the year, local officials said.
