Couple have a million reasons to worry
A couple in Jiading's Anting Town were in a desperate panic to find their cash of one million yuan (US$163,000) be mistakenly sold to a wastepaper recycler. But luckily enough, they recovered the huge sum from the honest recycler 90 minutes later.
The cash, wrapped in newspaper and placed in bags along with other wastepaper, was sold for seven yuan to Zhong Jinfeng, a recycling station worker, earlier this month.
The wife said her husband had placed the money in the bags and she didn't know a thing about it.
When she realized her mistake, the couple rushed to find Zhong and they recovered their money.
"I was greatly frightened when I saw so much money," said Zhong. "I could not make myself undoubted if the package had fallen onto the street or been taken by others."
Zhong said the newspapers and bags weighed more than 10 kilograms and she gave the wife seven yuan.
