Culture gets the quality treatment

JIADING has introduced a quality management system into the local cultural industry with district cultural authorities signing an agreement with the Shanghai Quality Authentication and Consultation Center to launch the ISO9001 system in the management of Jiading Library and Jiading Town Cultural Activity Center.
Under the agreement, the consultation center will analyze demand, service methods and public satisfaction at the two cultural institutes and make a manual of quality management for them to help them pass ISO9001 authentication.
Jiading’s public cultural facilities are now in a leading position in Shanghai as various facilities, including the new Jiading Museum, the new Jiading Library and various community cultural activity centers, have been put into use.
Yao Qiang, vice director of Jiading Bureau of Culture and Radio, said these facilities provide better cultural services to local citizens, and the ISO9001 standard will help regulate Jiading’s cultural services and promote Jiading’s construction of the national demonstration district of public cultural services.
The ISO9001system is an advanced international quality management criterion. So far, China has issued more than 360,000 ISO9001 certificates, and most of them are granted to production enterprises.
