"CHINESE" and "A General Introduction to China" are compulsory courses for foreign students. "Political Theory" is compulsory for those majoring in philosophy, politics or economics and is optional for other majors.
Chinese is the basic language for higher education institutions to educate foreign students. Higher education institutions should provide remedial language courses for foreign students whose Chinese proficiency fails to meet professional standards.
Higher education institutions can offer major courses in English or other foreign languages for foreign students. Foreign students receiving academic qualification education in foreign languages must write the graduation thesis in Chinese.
