JIADING has introduced 12 company headquarters in recent years in fields such as investment, management research and sales, prompting an adjustment of regional industry structure.
Swiss company Geberit, specializing in sanitary and plumbing systems, invested 130 million yuan (US$19.08 million) in its Asian headquarters in the district. It handles research, logistics, sales and staff training of more than 10 branch companies and seven subsidiary companies in China, Singapore, South Korea and Australia, among others.
The company's global sales volume last year reached 14.5 billion yuan.
The Asian HQ operates more than 10 laboratories, two of which are applying for national research center status.
As one of the three investment company headquarters in Jiading that is approved by the municipal government, Juki (China) is playing multiple roles, including fund management and coordination.
Juki Group specializes in sewing machine and electronic devices production and has already invested in six companies in China. Juki (China), the investment headquarter, has established a "fund pool," which can supply a capital flow of 30-50 million yuan to subsidiaries.
In addition, Juki (China) can also help the parent group get bank credit and streamline procedure time.
Kumho Tires boasts the biggest market share in China: one in every four new cars uses Kumho tires. Based in Anting since 2006, Kumho is responsible for all the sales and market expansion in China. It has 26 offices, 185 dealers, 1,550 stores and 18 "Tire Pro" stations providing maintenance service around China.
Shanghai International Automobile City has many famous brands, an absolute advantage for Kumho which has supported them for a long time. Kumho also sponsors the Asian Formula Renault Championship at Shanghai International Circuit every year.
