District taking further steps toward its new role as an ‘Intelligent City’

JIADING will be making efforts in 10 fields this year, including basic facilities, government affairs, traffic, medical treatment, education, culture and sports and urban management, to promote the construction of an “Intelligent City.”
The district will promote the construction of a database of basic information of government affairs and launch trial operations of intelligent government services in Jiangqiao and Zhenxin.
By the end of 2015, the information database will cover all sub-districts and towns, and one or two intelligent communities will initially be formed in each sub-district and town.
Intelligent management will be tested in food and drug safety, urban management, creative social governance and urban emergency guarantees.
Two or three intelligent industrial zones will be established by the end of 2015, and this mode will be able to be applied into other industrial zones.
The construction of an “Intelligent City” will also benefit the public in culture, sports, medical treatment and education.
Smarter services
Family users of Jiading’s optical fibers will achieve a top speed of 100Mbps, and the district has launched construction of a 4G network, first of Shanghai’s suburban districts. The network will cover most key places in the central area.
Public cultural digital platforms will be improved, as online booking services for cultural performance and physical training will be available in this year.
By the end of 2015, all the main roads will be included in the traffic guide system, and bus stops will have electronic signboards. All the public parking squares and newly built commercial parking squares will be gradually involved in the traffic guide system.
In the future, citizens will be able to use cellphones, computers and televisions to refer to their own health records and medical reports as well as book medical services. In addition, the share platform of educational resources will be completed by the end of the year.
In recent years, Jiading’s construction of an “Intelligent City” has achieved good results. Jiading has been listed as a demonstration district of Shanghai’s construction of an “Intelligent City,” and the district has issued a three-year plan for the campaign.
