THE China Self-Drive Travel Fair, the core project of the 2009 Shanghai Auto Culture Festival, will be held on October 23-25 in Jiading. The fair will promote the greater comprehensive functions of Shanghai Auto City and publicize the tourist resources of Jiading.
Vegetable traces
THE Agriculture Department of Jiading district has implemented a system to trace the source of vegetable products to guarantee their quality. The vegetable production bases have to establish a system of procedures and a simple code to make the vegetables identifiable and traceable.
BMW opens up
THE opening ceremony of the BMW Shanghai Training Center, located in the south creative center of Jiading District, was held on May 11. The total investment of the training center exceeded 100 million yuan (US$14.6 million). The training center provides sales, technical and IT training services to BMW dealers. By the end of this year, it can train 12,000 staff, and the number will reach 50,000 by 2010.
Design awards
THE Award Ceremony for the 2nd China University Design Competition was held in Tongji University recently. The competition's theme was "wise, creative, reformed and useful."
Fresh fish fry
The first 100 million fish fry from Wangxin Fry Market in Waigang Town were transported in special oxygen bags through the country on the early morning of May 12. Wangxin is a famous fry brand in Jiading and its annual output of fry is over 1 billion.
TV upgrade
The Shanghai Jiaguang Media Co Ltd, cooperating with the Shanghai Interactive Television Co Ltd, has recently upgraded Jiashitong Digital Television after three months' preparation. The new system was launched on May 1.
