Economy stays on stable, rapid growth track

JIADING'S economy experienced stable and rapid growth from January to May.
The output value of four industries including auto parts, electronics, metal processing and machinery production reached 64.46 billion yuan (US$9.48 billion), increasing by 44.8 percent compared with the same period last year.
The added value of tertiary industry reached 9.97 billion yuan with a growth rate of 20.8 percent. A total of 85 companies with poor efficiency or serious pollution were eliminated, saving a land area of 42.4 hectares.
Shanghai Longjiang Machinery Corporation in Anting occupied an area of about 6.7 hectares, yet it did not make a profit for five years. The facility was then taken over by a poker card company whose annual tax revenue is now expected to be 50 million yuan.
During the past five months, 165 enterprises at Huangdu Industrial Zone in Anting Town have been inspected. Among them, 92 enterprises with low production will be eliminated or transformed in three years.
Nineteen enterprises were eliminated from January to April in Nanxiang Town, including low production factories and manufacturing enterprises that did not fit the regional profile.
In next few years, the town will eliminate more than 200 such enterprises and revive a land area of 4 square kilometers.
