Education for students in 3D

A 3D technology firm, which launched in Jiading last April, is teaming up with local primary schools and a college to offer 3D printing education in a bid to promote 3D technology.

Shanghai Yinli 3D Education and Technology Co provides open courses on 3D printing to primary schools in the district including Qingshui Road Primary School, Jianbang Primary School, Zhuqiao Primary School, Jiangqiao Primary School, Yecheng Road Primary School and Chengjia School.

Yinli offers six to eight lessons for Chengjia School students each semester.

It is also cooperating with Shanghai Arts and Crafts College in its education program to compile textbooks and train talent. The college is the first higher education institution to offer 3D printing major education. The college’s students take internships at Yinli and Yinli will recommend qualified interns to other 3D printing companies.

Yinli plans to host a 3D printing contest for all primary, middle and high schools in the district this year.

The company has an imported 3D food printer that can print biscuits, cakes and chocolates once you add ingredients. Printed biscuits and cakes still require baking.

It is also cooperating with Taiwan-based 3D printing frontrunner XYZPrinting in innovating a new printing material — photosensitive resin, a material said to be finer, less toxic and more polished than ordinary plastic printing materials.
