Electric car sales to accelerate with new 4S shop

THE first 4S shop exclusively dedicated to new energy vehicles in the country was launched on November 23 in Jiading District.

The seller provides four services in one shop - sales, spare parts, servicing and surveys in the form of customer feedback - therefore it is named 4S.

It is regarded as another clean energy vehicle breakthrough after the district launched the first batch of private electric vehicles to hit the road and opened the Jiading Electric Vehicle Test Driving Center.

Located at No. 7568-3 on Boyuan Road in Anting Town, Gaozhan 4S shop is a joint venture of Gaozhan Electric Vehicle Co Ltd and Shanghai International Automobile City. Its business scope also encompasses rentals of electric vehicles. Building on the shop's effective business mode, it will promote the proliferation of electric vehicles.

The brands for sale in the shop include SAIC, Chery, Zotye, Lifan and BYD. Marketing of electric vehicles is a systematic project. It not only deals with the sale of the vehicles and spare parts, but also includes supporting facilities such as charging piles, as well as government subsidies and relevant procedures, and after-sales service.

Gaozhan has formed a maintenance team to tackle consumers' problems. Meanwhile, it keeps a close tie with manufacturers to continually offer better service.

Anyone who buys an electric vehicle can enjoy a maximum subsidy of 60,000 yuan (US$9,468). But this amount cannot directly be deducted at the time of purchase, and will be cashed in by Gaozhan after the local detailed policies are issued.

On April 6, the first batch of eight electric vehicles purchased by individuals hit the road. Zhao Yu, one of the car owners, said that the cost per kilometer was only 0.1 yuan and was a good option for daily usage.

Next year, Jiading will launch a group-buying plan for electric vehicles. One thousand electric vehicles will hit the road either via purchases or rentals. Besides, no less than 30 electric buses will be on service, four charging stations and 2,000 support facilities will be set up.

Next May, park-and-ride pilot stops will be launched at three stations along Metro Line 11. They are Anting station, Shanghai Auto City station and Changji Road E. station. More than 200 parking spaces will be available at those stations.

By then, those who drive electric vehicles can leave their cars at park-and-ride stops at the stations and transfer to the subway. When they get home at night, they only need to pay a parking fee of 10 yuan and a low charging fee, and drive home.
