Enterprises provide Expo products and undertake pavilion construction
ALL the vegetables produced by Huating Agriculture Farm for city supermarkets qualified with passes in recent pesticide tests.
As one of the 13 vegetable bases in Jiading District to produce vegetables for World Expo 2010 Shanghai, it checks the residual quantity of pesticide everyday.
All 13 bases have set up field files to constantly record sowing and growth development and pesticide usage of the vegetables to ensure safety.
More Jiading-based enterprises are making contributions to Expo. Shanghai Dahua Electric Equipment Co Ltd has offered two batches of 800 power distribution machines to the Expo site within six weeks.
The company won the bid among competitors from more than 20 countries including Cuba, Greece, Portugal, Egypt and Hungary in May this year for providing power distribution equipment for pavilions at Expo.
"It's our honor to serve the Expo," the employees of the company said. The 800 machines sent to the Expo site are all licensed.
The company will bid for other contracts and is expected to produce 1,500 to 1,600 more machines by the end of this month.
As the only one of 17 Expo enterprise pavilions from Taiwan, Aurora Pavilion released its construction design, exhibition plan and mascot "Danbao" recently.
The main construction of the pavilion will be completed by the end of this month and exhibits will be in place before the end of the year.
The 3,000-square-meter Aurora Pavilion costs 100 million yuan (US$14.6 million) and is located on the Puxi side of the Expo site.
The L-shaped pavilion will feature rare exhibits.
