Exhibitions showcase a proud culture

Jiading has a culture to be proud of and a fascinating history. Eight hundred years ago, the land was officially established as Jiading Town. Named after Emperor Ningzong (1168-1224) in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), the name means clarity and peace in Chinese. The land was home to the ancestors of today’s residents who braved natural perils to survive generation after generation.
Currently, two exhibitions in the district celebrate this special year in Jiading’s history. Exhibition celebrating the many diplomats the district has produced and a postage stamp collection that includes celebrations of important celebrities and events.
