F1 fever revving up at Shanghai circuit
FROM April 13 to 15, the 2012 Formula 1 UBS Chinese Grand Prix will be unveiled at Shanghai International Circuit, attracting six world champions for the competition, including Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, Sebatian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton.
These world champions will be fighting for another champion in their career in Shanghai. For those local F1 fans, it will be a feast for their eyes, as they can enjoy the high-octane event without travelling abroad.
In 2011, the Red Bull had a great advantage and Vettel easily won the championship.
"Last year, the general quality of the racing car decided the outcome," said Yang Yibin, sales director of Shanghai Juss Event Management Ltd. "After a year of development, the other teams are making their chase. Whether Vettel and Red Bull could still retain their advantage or not remains to be seen."
Besides the car racing competition, the sponsors of F1 will also hold some exhibitions and interactive activities. Here local fans can not only learn about different vehicles' performance, but also have a chance for a test drive.
According to Yang, F1 in China is also a feast for relaxation, including a range of activities from playing to eating.
The local fans can enjoy snack foods in the commercial area setting up beside the main bleachers and water landscape square. They can also appreciate band performances and drive go-karts during the break.
