JIADING was honored as one of the first "model districts adopting national brand strategy" on March 1, and six more brands were honored as "Shanghai Famous Brands" on the same day.

Now Jiading has altogether 11 "National Famous Brands," accounting for 11.46 percent among the 96 "National Famous Brands" in Shanghai, and 86 "Shanghai Famous Brands," 9.94 percent of the total 865 in the city.

Braking news

Link Corporation, the world-leading enterprise in the production of brake equipment, recently settled into Jiading Industrial Zone with a first-phase registered capital of US$3.5 million. A research and test center for the company will be established mainly for the test of friction materials.

Feilo's new HQ

The headquarters of Shanghai Feilo Corporation, China's first listed stock company, was established in Malu Town on March 2, and the construction of the new technology center for its subsidiary Shanghai Yaming Bulb Factory started on the same day. In the future, Feilo will concentrate on the green lighting industry, aiming to reach an annual sales income of US$760 million by 2015.

Fourth factory

The foundations of the Delphi Packard Electric System Company's A6 factory were laid in Anting Town recently, which is the company's fourth factory in Jiading. After it is put into use in September, it is expected to reach an annual output value of US$70 million by 2012.

New square

Wanda Square in Jiangqiao Town is expected to be opened to the public in late June. As a major business project in the north Hongqiao area, it occupies a total construction area of 550,000 square meters with an entire investment of US$597 million. Once completed, it will be composed of four sections, including residences, commercial squares, business buildings, and bars and restaurants.

Affordable housing

As one of the 23 affordable housing projects in Shanghai this year, the construction of Yunxiang Base will start soon and is expected to be completed within two years. The Yunxiang Base in Nanxiang Town occupies a construction area of about 350,000 square meters.
