CONSTRUCTION on Huayi Bros Culture City, a base for film production, will start at the end of this year. Developed by Huayi Bros Media Group, it will occupy over 16.6 hectares in its first phase of construction and will include eastern China's biggest indoor film studio. Investment will be several billion yuan.
New fund
Chuanzhi Capital Management Corp signed an agreement with Jiading District to become the first foreign-invested capital-management company to locate here. Its initial investment will total 200 million yuan (US$30 million) and will focus on venture capital funding for media, Internet, environmental protection and recyclable resources, etc.
Auto parts
Benteler Automotive signed an agreement to invest US$54 million to set up an automobile parts company in the Jiading Industrial Zone. Annual production value is estimated at 1.5 billion yuan. Established in 1876, Benteler Automotive now has over 150 factories in 38 countries and regions.
Work joy
The Sandvik Group in the Jiading Industrial Zone was recently honored as one of the "2010 Top 50 Best Workplaces in China." About 150 companies from across China participated in the contest. The selection process looked at how employees feel about the place where they work.
Fine food
Wenxing grapes, Shanmi grapes and melons, and Waigang wood have been honored as famous agricultural brands in Jiading. They join seven other producers in that category. Two brands - Jiami vegetables and fruits, and Yonghui lamb hold honors as famous brands of Shanghai.
Construction
The second phase of construction on facilities for Shanghai Continental Automotive Brake System Corp and Continental Automotive System (Shanghai) Corp has begun. The Continental Automotive Brake facility will combine research and sales, while Continental Automotive System will expand its production capability.
Foundation
The foundation has been laid for the headquarters of Zhongchuan Petroleum in the Silver Nanxiang Culture Business Area.
