A CHARGING station is now in operation in Anting to charge batteries for buses automatically, the first of its kind in Shanghai. The station mainly serves the 15 electric buses on the Anting No. 1 route. It can charge 132 batteries simultaneously, and the process of changing batteries is done by machines which identify the bus and show its relevant information. A robot equipped with visual positioning can locate the battery box.
