Fiscal income rises

JIADING'S fiscal income in the first half of this year reached 31.342 billion yuan (US$4.8 billion), an increase of 41.4 percent from a year earlier, accounting for 68 percent of the yearly target.
Auto investment fund
A project to establish a fund for the Shanghai automobile industry recently began. Jiading District government, Shanghai International Auto City (Group) Co Ltd and China Machinery Industry Federation initiated the project, which aims to raise 30 billion yuan. The fund, which will mainly be invested in auto service, auto finance, auto industry cluster and vehicle logistics services, is the first intelligent managing fund in China's auto industry.
Malu Wal-Mart opens
Wal-Mart supermarket's Malu store opened on June 30. The store has two floors with nearly 7,000 square meters of business area. There are 25,000 kinds of goods including household appliances, food, clothing and washing utensils. There are 350 parking spaces. Six free shuttle bus lines travel to towns of Malu, Nanxiang, Anting and Jiading every hour.
Lottery sales boom
Welfare lottery sales reached 82.01 million yuan in Jiading, a year-on-year increase of 26 percent. The booming sales resulted from Jiading residents' winning prizes in the lottery in April, May and June.
Boost for local pear
The Huyang pear plantation was recently selected as the standardized demonstration area by the Shanghai Bureau of Quality Supervision. The Huyang pear plantation was jointly established by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Jiading Modern Agricultural Park in 2006. There are many pear varieties, such as Cuiguan, Cuilu and Yuanhuang. At the end of this month, Huyang pears will enter the market and can be bought at 680 Huhua Road, Liansan Village, Huating Town. The lowest price is about 5 yuan per kilogram. Gift boxes will be priced at 50 yuan each.
