From beginner to super fan

HAVING a regular job on weekdays, I’d like to go on a trip at weekends. However, it is difficult to find someone to go with me, and I could just envy others’ travel photos. So, I only went on trips on my annual leave after registering with a travel agency. Then, just like many tourists, I fell asleep on the bus and took pictures when I got off.
However, outdoor hiking is so different. You can share your wonderful feeling with your partners and see the splendid scenes that you cannot see on the bus.
I registered for an outdoor hiking activity in May just to cheer myself up. It was my first time for hiking.
The destination was Zhedong Grand Canyon in neighboring Zhejiang Province. We gathered at 6:15pm that day, and I saw more than 40 new faces.
After two days and nights’ travel from Jiading, we reached the foot of the mountain at midnight. We took an old bus to the camp site because the mountain road was under renovation. We all felt tired, but the full moon in the sky made me feel that all the effort was worthwhile.
When we reached the camp site, I thought myself clever and chose a large patch of grass to set up my tent, while many others were crowded on a small piece of concrete ground. However, when I packed my tent on next morning, I found a lot of cow’s excrement under it, and I knew I still had a lot to learn.
My second hike was to Jilong Mountain. I experienced abseiling when I couldn’t even feel my legs; I explored the dark cave in the mountain; I even fought against a snake. There were a lot of impressive moments.
Now I’m a super fan of hiking. I believe that the most beautiful scenes you have got are those you get through on foot.
