Gadgets to turn the scorching summer cool
SUMMER is here and to help you survive the scorching days, we have tested a number of small apparatus that might make you feel much cooler.
锟 Natural cooler
This thermodynamic cooler looks like a rice cooker made up of three layers. The layer in the middle can make water evaporate and create a cooling effect. According to the designer, this cooler can decrease the temperature inside the inner layer by several degrees Celsius, suitable for keeping fruit and food fresh. The only thing you have to do is to add a cup of water every two days.
锟 Cooling rod
This device is currently the closest thing you can get as ice cubes. Sure, it's far from cubic, but this rod-like device will cool your drink just as well. Simply stick it into your drink, trigger the switch at its top-end, a blue light will shine and your drink will turn icy cold in a few minutes. This brilliant device is powered by a battery, which can be recharged.
锟 USB-powered chair fan
For most white-collar workers, the normal way to cool their cheap office chairs is by draping a bamboo sheet over it. One design company however has found a better way - by adding ventilation equipment under the chair. Hook it onto the bottom of your chair, plug it into the computer USB and feel the cooling breezes blow up from below.
