Get fit and be healthy

"WORKING on the computer for at least eight hours per day makes me fat and achy. Exercise is the only way to avoid being overweight," said Kathy.

So Kathy decided to get fit and discovered the most suitable activities for herself.

China is the kingdom of bicycles, so she decided to stop driving and start riding a bicycle to work. She thinks riding a bicycle doesn't require any special skills and she enjoys the moment when she is sweating.

"I became more interested in fitness after I saw others getting slimmer and fitter, and accepted recommendations from my colleagues. I started attending a yoga class.

"Although the yoga teacher has a 12-year-old child, she is still in good shape, and that makes me believe exercise can keep you young and fit," Kathy said.

At first, Kathy could not successfully complete each pose because yoga requires good balance and flexibility.

"Don't worry, keep practicing each day and you will make progress. Finally you can achieve the result," the yoga teacher said to Kathy.

After three months of yoga, Kathy is much fitter and she also sleeps better.

Recently, Kathy heard of a boxing dance. The aerobic exercise combines boxing, karate, taekwondo and kung fu with music.

"In only 15 minutes, I am totally sweaty," said Kathy.

It is worthwhile mentioning that the boxing dance is ideal exercise for your waist and abdominal muscles. The routine is especially good for people who sit frequently at work.

"Now I am addicted to fitness and I like to search for new ways to keep fit, because keeping my body healthy makes my life better and gives me more energy," said Kathy.
