Government sets out goals for 2009
TO meet the demand of economic and social development in 2009, the Jiading District government has set 10 goals to improve the life quality for its residents in an all-round way. The goals are as follows:
1. The district will create 26,600 jobs and control the number of urban registered unemployed people to 6,540 or less. The district will move 8,000 surplus rural laborers to urban areas.
2. The district will build 30 shopping centers in rural areas.
3. To strengthen public security, 500 cameras will be installed on streets in the district.
4. The district will reconstruct 500,000 square meters of old residential buildings.
5. The district will replace tap water supply systems for residential buildings totaling 500,000 square meters.
6. The district will complete 40 key sewage treatment projects in villages.
7. The district will provide vocational training for 20,000 people and safety training for 60,000 rural migrant workers.
8. The district will build 10 standard entertainment rooms for seniors. The 25,000 elementary and middle school students will be provided with free dental checks and treatment for cavities.
9. Three public playgrounds will be built in communities along with 20 fitness areas for farmers.
10. A total of 380 low-income families in the district will be provided with affordable housing.
To attract talent, the district will also provide 40,000 square meters of housing for them to rent or buy. Rent subsidies will be given to 1,000 families.
