Heartfelt thanks from the folk in Yunnan

THE Communist Youth League of China Jiading committee has received a thank-you letter from Yunnan Province thousands of kilometers away in gratitude for donations from Jiading.
The letter was written by Deng Senmiao, who comes from Jiading but who has also volunteered for service in Yunnan.
“After I helped a child tie a scarf he smiled at the camera,” Deng wrote in reference to clothes sent from Jiading.
“This makes me feel warm and I would like to give this feeling back to the donor. So I write this letter.”
Deng is employed by the Jiading Center for Diseases Control and Prevention. He went to Yunnan last August with other volunteers from Shanghai. They are the 19th set of volunteers to work in Honghe, Wenshan, Diqing, Nujiang and Pu’er in the southwestern Yunnan Province, which borders Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.
2 fully laden trucks
The relay team of volunteers has 23 members — seven of them from Jiading. Deng and five others volunteered at Guangnan County of Wenshan Prefecture.
It was Deng and his Jiading teammates who launched the donation to Yunnan. Two fully loaded trucks carried more than 2,000 clothes and other items as well as the love and best wishes from Jiading.
When people received clothing and housing items from Deng, they shook his hand. “Kids tried the new coats, shoes and hats again and again excitedly,” Deng wrote. He was deeply touched.
