Highway tolls abolished

TOLLS on the Shanghai-Jiading Expressway, the first fee-based roadway on the Chinese mainland, were abolished at the start of January. Since then traffic on the S5 Expressway has increased nearly 20 percent. No major traffic jams have been reported.
