Homemade machines improve welding work

Shanghai Baosteel & Arcelor Tailor Metal Ltd recently put a newly introduced homemade welding line into production.
It鈥檚 the eighth production line of the company and also the first in the country using a large homemade welding machine.
The new welding machine can complete most kinds of welding work, and the price is just half of an imported machine.
Meanwhile, the tooling of the homemade welding line is simpler so that the process cost of developing a new product is only a third of using the imported machine.
The homemade machine also has cheaper parts, shorter procurement cycle of parts and convenient repair service.
The company has decided to introduce one more homemade welding line and expects to put it into production this year.
As the biggest domestic manufacturer of laser tailor-welded blanks, Baosteel & Arcelor now ranks top in both output and sales in the country.
The first seven welding lines of the company were all imported. But with the rapid development of domestic welding machine manufacturers, the company has improved cooperation with domestic enterprises and launched many homemade products.
