Homework with a difference
Children in Jiading had some interesting projects over the winter holiday.
Students from Defu Road Middle School were asked to create a financial statement about the red envelops received during Spring Festival. The money was to be regarded as a startup asset and students had to find the best way to preserve and increase its value.
At the same time, they need to understand where the money came from. “It’s mainly from parents’ hard work,” said Wang Ping, a teacher at the school.
“To pick the most suitable financial vehicle for the biggest profit is not hard for a grade six student to understand,” Wang said.
“The most important thing is that they should learn to be grateful.”
At Anting Foreign Language School, students were encouraged to use their digital devices to map out their different winter holidays.
Zhongguang High School let its students plan their future careers. The choices the kids made were diverse, including games artist, stock trader, IT architect and even priest.
Students needed to collect information and interview professionals to learn about their dream jobs.
After that, they were required to compile a brief introduction about the occupation as well as its major characteristicss.
This will help students understand the importance of planning their career, according to staff at the school.
