CONSTRUCTION of Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital affiliated to the No.2 Military Medical University led by Professor Wu Mengchao will be completed in Anting Town, Jiading District in 2011.
The 1.5-billion-yuan (US$219 million) facility will have 1,000 beds and cover an area of 26.47 hectares. Featuring treatment of hepatobiliary diseases, the specialized hospital will mix treatment, education and research. The hepatobiliary system refers to the liver, gall bladder and bile ducts.
Meanwhile, construction of Shanghai New Ruijin Hospital will begin this year. It will be equipped with 800 to 1,000 beds. Medical level of the new hospital will be the same as the old one.
