Hospital leads way in construction projects

WITH its main structure capped, Ruijin Hospital North Branch, the largest project under construction in Jiading District, has entered its final stage of decoration. It is expected to put into operation by June next year.
Other projects underway in Jiading include: Jiading Long Distance Bus Station, Jiading Library, Jiading Museum and Poly Theater.
The construction of Ruijin Hospital North Branch kicked off in December 2009. The training of the medical workers started even earlier than that. Ruijin Hospital plans to send more qualified doctors to the North Branch once it is put into operation in order to ensure it can meet the requirements on top city-level hospitals. With 600 beds, the Ruijin Hospital North Branch will greatly make seeing doctors, especially those experienced ones, much easier than before in Jiading.
The first-phase project of the Long Distance Bus Station on Shengxin Road has been completed. Jiading Museum currently under interior decoration will become another cultural landmark in the district. Jiading Library will be completed by the end of the year, and it will be the first cultural project completed in Jiading New City area. The basement of the Poly Theater is currently under construction.
By the end of June, 89 projects in Jiading had been included in a monitoring list of the district authorities to ensure their smooth construction. The total investment of the 89 projects exceeds 17.5 billion yuan (US$2.7 billion), covering a total area of 360 hectares.
Ten projects, including the recently completed Shanghai Taobao Ceramic New Material Development Co, have been put into operation this year.
With an investment of 350 million yuan, Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Shanghai Nonferrous Components Co is now under trial production. It focuses on production of about 100 kinds of components such as cylinder heads.
