Hotel bookings high and the rates are hot

AS more people come to visit the World Expo, tourism attractions near downtown Shanghai are benefiting.
Six Expo experience sites like Nanxiang Old Town and Huating Families in Jiading have already received thousands of visitors.
Hotel reservation has increased sharply and prices have lifted by 20 percent. Downtown hotels are hot with high prices, and a lot of visitors choose to stay in Jiading instead. Since May, many district hotels have reported occupancy rates of over 90 percent, double compared to last year.
Seventy percent of tourists are visiting the Expo and most are families. Booking rates for June, July and August have also reached over 70 percent. At Blue Palace Hotel, all rooms for July have been booked by people on Expo tours.
Jiading tourism is flourishing as some tourist agencies have designed itineraries that allow people to see not only the Expo but also nearby cities and towns, making the trip richer and more memorable.
