Huge land parcels opened for development

THE 2012 Jiading Urban Development Investment Promotion Conference has been wrapped up, attracting more than 200 enterprises, including 70-plus publicly traded companies.
The conference introduced a total land area of 500 hectares, a commercial area of 5 million square meters and 50 high-quality projects to potential investors. Ten project deals were signed at the conference, such as Northern Suburb Wetland, Wanda Commercial Complex in Jiading New Town and Jiading Hyatt Place Hotel.
The land was collected through companies' relocation and renovation processes. It will be mainly allocated for creative industries, hospitality services, headquarters and large residential communities, as well as complete facilities for working and living.
Altogether 119 pieces of land in five sections were put forward at the conference and two thirds of them will be for commercial use or office buildings.
Jiading New Town is the largest section among the five with 57 pieces of land launched, covering a total area of 292 hectares.
Modern services backed by the auto industry will be further developed in this section and a comprehensive urban area consisting of education, leisure, residential facilities and commercial property will be constructed.
The southern section, covering Nanxiang, Jiangqiao and Zhenxin areas, is made up of 29 pieces of land, having a land area of 141 hectares.
This region is designed to connect with Hongqiao Business Hub and will be integrated into central Shanghai as a business and service center.
The western area consists of 19 pieces of land covering 112 hectares mainly for housing and office space.
The northern section, formed by Huating Town and a municipal industrial zone, has 14 pieces of land at about 34 hectares.
The ecological section, including Northern Suburb Wetland, Jiabao ecological corridor and theme parks, has four pieces of land with an area of around 52 hectares.
