Innovative students and teachers in prize haul
MORE than 40 students and their teachers in Jiading District won 13 top prizes at the recent 26th Intel Shanghai Adolescents Science & Technology Innovation Contest.
Their winning inventions included a water-saving washing machine and flush toilet, sketching toolbox, automatic fish feeder and a Chinese zodiac chess set.
Three of the winners, Zhang Xinyun from Nanxiang Elementary School, Gu Wei from Huaishao School and Chen Yiru from Jiading New City Junior Middle School, will go on to take part in the national innovation contest to be held in August in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region with 21 students from other Shanghai districts.
More than 1,000 students and their instructors from Shanghai and its neighboring Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces joined in this year's innovation contest.
