Intercity rail link opens on July 1
SHANGHAI-NANJING Intercity Railway will be launched on July 1.
With a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour, it will only take one hour to travel from Shanghai to Nanjing in Jiangsu Province, 50 minutes less than normal bullet trains. The project marks a breakthrough in high-speed railway construction.
With a total length of 300 kilometers, there are 21 stations along the whole route, four in Shanghai. There are two stops within Jiading District °?- Anting North Station and Nanxiang North Station.
Running around the clock, the intervals between trains can be as short as three minutes.
Construction work at the two stations in Jiading is in full swing now. When completed, they will serve as main transport hubs for the district. Jiading residents can take bus lines such as Hutang Line, Beijia Line or Shangjia Line at Nanmen passengers' terminal to reach Nanxiang North Station.
There are no direct bus services currently to Anting North Station, but the local transport department will start a new link or adjust some old ones to reach it. The intercity railway will start trial operations after June 1 with an interval of five minutes between two trains.
