Internet of Things industry expanding

MORE than 10 enterprises in the Internet of Things industry have been set up in Jiading District since the second half of last year. At present, there are nearly 100 enterprises in the industry in Jiading.
Shanghai Zuo'an Xinhui Electronic Technology Co set up its headquarters in Beishuiwan Building in Juyuan New Area recently. The company provides technology and project support for industry heavyweights, including Huawei, ZTE and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with current annual sales of more than 10 million yuan (US$1.54 million). Its sales are expected to reach more than 50 million yuan soon.
Shanghai GAO RFID Inc, the first foreign-invested company in the Internet of Things industry in Jiading, started its operation at Jiading High-tech Park in May. The company invested by Canada-based GAO Group focuses on radio frequency identification, readers and tags. Its applications are widely used in logistics, human resources and health care industries.
With the mushrooming of companies in the industry, the Shanghai Tongyong Business Institute on Internet of Things has been set up in Jiading District to provide investment consultation, industry guidance and legislative support. The institute has put tracing systems on food safety and logistics into operation.
