Jiading Park gears up forhigh-tech revolution
JIADING Park, affiliated to Zhangjiang High-tech Park, has entered a new stage of development as its area was recently extended nine-fold to 18 square kilometers.
The newly expanded Jiading Park consists of four parts, including a cluster of national research institutes, an industrial innovation base of Jiading Industrial Zone, new energy cars and auto key components industry zone as well as that of cultural innovation and information service.
Jiading Park will place great emphasis on growing its five leading industries: automobile and key components, software and information service, Internet of Things, new energy, and new materials. Revolving around the Jiading High-tech Industrialization Base that was set up by the Jiading government and Chinese Academy of Sciences, the park is foreseen to become a competitive innovation base and a home for high-tech companies.
Each part of the park is expected to arrange its industrial layout according to its own characteristics, among which the cluster of national research institute is most eyes-catching. It possesses 10 powerful state-level research institutes. This part focuses on promoting industrial innovation through research and development so as to transform scientific achievements into economic results.
By the end of 2012, the top five leading industries of Jiading Park are expected to yield 45 billion yuan (US$7.03 billion) as its yearly output value and 3 billion yuan as its annual tax revenue.
It will host 1,500 enterprises, including 80 high-tech companies, 30 "little giant" technology companies, 20 headquarters corporations and 20 R&D centers, five of which are of the state level and others are of the city level. High-tech Business Incubator will occupy an area of 100,000 square meters.
To accelerate the development of high-tech companies, Jiading Park will introduce a venture capital fund, with initial capital of 500 million yuan, and carry out a stock option incentive plan.
The enlargement of Jiading Park is an important step in the country's drive to transform the industrial structure and increase higher resource efficiency.
