Jiading throws spotlight on top tech firms

CUTTING-EDGE research institutions and enterprises will display their latest hi-tech inventions and techniques at the first-ever Jiading Hi-Tech Exposition in a bid to speed up the commercialization of their products.
Nearly 100 technology enterprises have signed up for the expo that will be held at the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center on August 25-26.
The two-day expo will include a debate contest for college students, an Internet of Things forum, talks on the demand for innovative talents of newly developed industries, as well as a chance to test drive pure electric-powered cars.
A series of awards, such as "Technology Hero of the Year," will be handed out during the expo. Through a targeted development plan, Jiading has transformed itself into a hub for high-tech companies, scientific and technological institutions and universities.
The district now accommodates three national innovative enterprises, 232 national high-tech enterprises and nine intellectual property rights model enterprises.
