Jiamin Elevated Road ready for its next stage

PREPARATION work for the construction of the Jiamin Elevated Road, which will connect Jiading District to the Hongqiao Transit Hub, is under way.

The elevated road, which passes Jiangqiao and Nanxiang towns, runs for about 11 kilometers within the district and features two-way six-to-eight lanes and a speed limit of 80kmh.

More than 500 businesses and farms along the road will be relocated.

The A17 Highway, which intersects the elevated road, is being planned and will start construction within the year.

Starting from A5 Highway (Jiading-Jinshan) at west and A20 (Outer-Ring Road) at east, the A17 Highway passes Anting, Nanxiang and Malu towns running for about 9 kilometers within the district.

Together with the construction of Jinchang Road, Jiasheng Road W. and Yangpu Road, traffic congestion in Jiading's southern areas will be eased. By then, people could have a smoother journey to the city's downtown area.

The 5-kilometer-long Taopu Road from the A20 Highway to Xinghua Road has already been completed. However there is some work remaining at the junction in Putuo District. Currently, the two district governments are working to complete it in the first half of the year.

Relocation work for the construction of Jinchang Road, which starts from Jinying Road to Jiasong Road N., has finished. Construction will start right after preparations in Putuo District are completed.

Projects at Lintao, Huiping and Yining roads will also be launched. The A13 Highway, which passes Xuhang and Huating towns, is now being planned.
