Legal help for free on WeChat
Jiading residents are able to get legal advice free on “Jiading Fabao,” the Jiading District Bureau of Justice’s WeChat platform.
The service, Didi Lawyer, sends residents’ questions to lawyers’ WeChat accounts for a speedy response.
So far, the questions have mostly concerned civil affairs, criminal cases and administrative concerns. From last August to March 28, the platform received 1,459 applications with a satisfaction rate reaching 75 percent.
The service also collaborates with offline legal service centers to provide a demonstration and promotion platform for lawyers in Jiading. So far, 54 qualified lawyers have joined Didi Lawyer.
Wu Liangfei of Shanghai Junhao Law Firm handles over 10 online consultations every day.
Next, the platform will add an evaluation and rating system to supervise and improve the quality of consultation services.
