Local bird population burgeons

JIADING District is currently home to 98 species of birds, more than 20 of which appeared after 2010.

More birds are remaining in Jiading thanks to the district's improved ecological environment. Jiading District has built reservoirs, forest belts and orchards in recent years with 500.5 hectares of shrub lands and almost 103.8 hectares of nursery lands. Forest coverage climbed to 10.38 percent. Forest, marshes and larger farmlands create a fine living space for birds.

Bird observation in the countryside has gained popularity in Jiading. The district plans to set up bird-watching towers.
