Local invention attracts deal with People ELE
SHANGHAI Institute of Ceramics signed the initial framework agreement with People ELE Appliance Group China earlier this month to apply the magnetic field sensor application invented by a local scientist into the smart grid.
The invention by Dr Luo Haosu of the institute under the Chinese Academy of Sciences is as small as an AA battery.
However, the mini-sized sensor can create a value of several billion yuan once coming onto the market, said Zhu Bin, chief of the strategy management office of People ELE.
Luo's sensor also has higher accuracy, its scope of measurement can reach dozens of meters and is lower in cost than traditional sensors.
The institutes under the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the district will offer 10 national or regional prize-winning projects to join with local enterprises with an annual output of more than 1 billion yuan (US$155 million) to promote the industrialization of scientific achievements.
