Friendship Peony

Friendship Peony was first introduced from the America in April 1997, cultivated by the famous lotus expert Huang Guozhen. With a huge body, deep green leaves and about 135 heavy petals, the lotus looks like a ball at first but when it blooms it takes the shape of a big dish. The flower bud is green and looks like peaches, while the petals are mostly yellow, occasionally there will be some green ones. It has a light fragrance and is able to produce seeds. With big and elegant flowers, the Friendship Peony looks noble and is a rare to be seen.

Charlene Strawn

This is a type of water lily with round leaves. The leaves have deep red spots on both sides soon after sprouting, but the spots will gradually disappear as it grows bigger. The flower is deep yellow with about 25 petals and a diameter of 8-10cm. Charlene Strawn is a small lily variety that is suitable for planting in crocks and ponds. Generally it floats on the water, blooming in the morning and closing up in the afternoon.

Zirui Lotus

Introduced by Nanjing-based Yilian Garden Company, Zirui lotus is a variety of medium- and small-sized one. Its flower bud is peach-shaped and in light purple color. When it blooms it turns into pansy color. Since it looks beautiful both for its shape and color when it just blooms, and also because it has a hard stem, Zirui is a good option for making flower arrangements, bouquets, flower baskets or wreaths.

Baby Red

Baby Red is a good variety of water lily which is suitable to be plated as a bonsai or in little pond. It was cultivated by Perry Slocum in 1989. The water lily has deep red petals and pink sepals with clear red veins, looking just like a baby's skin. Shaped like a vase, the flower is about 8-9cm in diameter, always giving out an attractive light fragrance. The pedicel is brown with thick but short villus. The newly sprouted leaves are in purple color on the surface and will turn to green gradually, while the back of the leaves are red at first and will turn brown later. The leaves are heart-shaped while the leaf base is opened in a V-shape. The leaf is usually around 11-15cm in diameter and 75cm at length.

Blue Bird

Blue bird is a precious variety of tropical water lily and is also called ziwulian or shuiqinhua in Chinese. The flower is usually white and grows on a long and thin flower stalk. Floating on the water, the flower has a diameter of about 3-6cm. It has four sepals, in the shape of either broad lance or narrow ovals. When the flower is closed, it looks like a round fruit with oval black nuts inside. It's honored as "Goddess in Water" for its gorgeous colors and touching posture, looking like a beautiful girl in the clear pond.

Space Lotus

Space Lotus is one of the excellent varieties of white lotus that was cultivated through genetic mutation in space. It was produced jointly by Guangchang County White Louts Research Institute in Jiangxi Province and the Chinese Academy of Sciences - the research group sent a regular white lotus seed into space with a satellite, and under the different gravitational conditions the seed underwent a genetic mutation. After traveling to space three times, the regular lotus turned into the excellent Space lotus variety. It has a longer growth period, stronger resistance against diseases, bigger seeds and produces more flowers.
