Metro Line 11 saving power with escalators

ALL stations along Metro Line 11 have been installed with energy-saving escalators.
The escalators will switch off when nobody is riding them and will restart when the sensors detect passengers coming.
Most energy-saving escalators previously have been installed in shopping malls, hotels and airports.
It is the first time that a Metro line will use them so comprehensively.
Metro line staff said the escalators were installed principally to save energy.
At some stations where there is huge passenger traffic, the sensors will be turned off to guarantee a non-stop service.
