Microblog aids government serve residents better, faster

Jiadingfabu, the official microblog of Jiading District government, responds to Netizens within 24 hours after a complaint is submitted.

At 9am every morning,  workers of the microblog (http://e.weibo.com/jiadingfabu) check all messages and will give feedback one by one. By around 5pm, they can answer nearly all the complaints.

Daily routine

The Jiading District Information Office and Jiading District Government Office will send documents to various government departments to ensure the complaints are addressed quickly.

Netizens say the blog is effective as they no longer need to visit government officials to make complaints.

One day at 9am, microblog staffer Yang Beibei logged in and saw four messages.

One said many drivers were driving in the wrong direction at the crossing of Beidajie Street and Huancheng Road at around 7:25am, causing traffic chaos.

By 9:02am, Yang replied that the information had been sent to the public transportation department and the district’s public security bureau.

“It’s the morning routine,” Yang said. She and her colleagues answer inquiries as quickly as possible and pass information to government departments to resolve issues.

Fast response

For complicated cases, the waiting time will be longer.  However, the dead line for the government officials responding to the complaint is 5pm the next day.

The official microblog has dealt with nearly 300 complaints in the first nine months of this year. Nearly all complaints have been answered satisfactorily.
