Ming Dynasty tombstones found
TWO tombstones dating from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) have been found in a residential courtyard in Jiading District. They have been used as stepping stones for many years. The two stone tablets, each 60 centimeters tall, were engraved with nearly 700 characters. They belonged to Xu Songshi, whose two sons were well-known Chinese calligraphers. The two tombstones are now in the district museum.
