Minhang, Baoshan easier to get to now

THE construction of three roads linking Jiading and two other districts has been completed, with two of the roads now opened to the public.

Taxin Road E., which connects Malu Town in Jiading and Yueluo Road in Baoshan, started serving the public last month.

A section of 1.83 kilometers of the 40-meter-wide road is within Jiading and has been connected to Daxin Road. It enables vehicles to reach Hutai Road in Baoshan directly.

Bridge above Luowen

The other road linking Jiading and Baoshan is Jiasheng Road E. The road is 4.29 kilometers long and 40 meters wide.

It has six lanes, three each side. The construction, which also involves a 700-meter-long bridge above Luowen River, is almost completed and expected to be put into use in the first half of the year.

The old two-way, two-lane Huajiang Road linking Jiangqiao area with Minhang was frequently jammed. The expansion project, completed in December, turned the road into two-way four-lanes.

Now it only takes 15 minutes for people from Jiangqiao to reach Hongqiao airport.

In addition, the new bridge and road engineering of Chengliu Road S. offers people in Jiading another option to go to the city’s downtown areas.

From Chengliu Road S., motorists can now reach S6 Shanghai Nanxiang expressway immediately and no longer need to take the Fengxiang Road which is usually overcrowded.
