JAMES Si-Cheng Chao, president of US Fumao Group, has donated a model of its Lanmei vessel to Jiading District Library.
Lanmei is a new vessel made by Fumao in 2011. It measures 299.92 meters in length, 50 meters in width and 24.9 meters in depth. To date, it is the biggest vessel exported to America from China.
Born in Malu Town, Jiading District, Chao is the father of Elaine Chao, the former minister of the Labor Department of the United States.
