Month-long car culture festival kicks off
ABOUT 7,000 local residents are expected to attend tonight's opening ceremony of the 2009 Shanghai Automobile Culture Festival at Auto Expo Park in Jiading District.
With a theme of "Better City, Better Life; Better Auto, Better Life," the one-month event will feature nine activities focusing on auto culture, auto industry and auto life.
They include Jiading Auto Forum, China Auto Innovation Forum, a Jiading auto culture tour and a carnival for auto enthusiasts in the Yangtze River Delta region, among others.
"Dance with Auto'' is a dancing program on the Travel Channel and is one of the festival's key programs. It will be played through to October 18. The program merges advanced auto technology with the charm of dance, aiming at building up a brand image for the festival.
The program has attracted brands such as Nissan, Shanghai General Motors, Shanghai Volkswagen and Porsche China.
