More roads will be built to link towns

Gong Huimin lives in Jiangqiao but works in Nanxiang. He spends a lot of time traveling from home to office as Huiping Road, the only way he has to pass, is blocked by two railways, then he has to go around a big circle to the office.

A few days ago, he found an overpass was being built over the Huiping Road, which will greatly reduce his commuter time when it is completed.

Other overpasses will also be built above railway lines on Yutian and Bai’an roads in Anting, and on Taopu Road in Nanxiang as Jiading District transport authority is planning to build more new roads or extend the existing roads to better connect the three towns of Anting, Nanxiang and Jiading New Town.

Last month, the construction work started to extend Yining Road eastward to Huyi Highway. The east and the west parts of Jiading New Town are separated by Huyi Highway and S5 Hujia Expressway. The extension of Yining Road will make the traffic between the two parts more convenient.

There are several railway lines in Anting and Nanxiang, which block the traffic in the two areas. The answer is to build road over the railways.

Also, between the Jiading New Town and Nanxiang there runs a river called the Wenzaobang River. Now an 830-meter-long Wenzaobang Bridge is under construction. When completed, it will benefit residents in both places.
