CONSTRUCTION of Jiading Museum has begun to the west of Qiuxia Garden, with a total floor space of 9,598 square meters. It will be a center of display, collection and research for Jiading's cultural relics.
Renovation special
Jiading Town has just finished a comprehensive reconstruction of older houses totaling 230,000 square meters. The project cost 31 million yuan (UD$5.54 million), mainly focusing on eight old residential areas such as Lane 800 Tacheng Road, Chengnan Neighborhood and Liuyi Neighborhood.
Village revamp
The first stage of the village reconstruction project in Jiading Industrial Zone has been completed, benefiting 288 village families with new roads, bridges and green areas. The entire project will benefit 1,277 families in Dengta, Yuhua and Wangjing villages, expected to be completed in three years.
Top volunteers
Jiading named its top 10 volunteers and 12 nominations on December 5, the 24th International Volunteer's Day. There are about 70,000 registered volunteers in Jiading, accounting for 13.5 percent of the district's population.
Bamboo winner
bamboo carving "Fun in Bamboo Forest" by Pan Feng, a member of Jiading Bamboo Carving Association, won the gold prize in arts and crafts at the 4th China Beijing International Cultural Creative Industry Exhibition.
Professor's art
AN art exhibition of paintings by Professor Su Chunsheng is now on show in Luyanshao Art Galley until January 8 next year, displaying more than 50 recent paintings. Su studied with masters Pan Tianshou and Lu Yanshao.
