NO longer satisfied with planting flowers on the balcony, people living in a modern city surrounded by reinforced concrete are seeking more natural environments to ease life's pressures.

These opportunities are available in the warmth of April when they can walk in the sunshine around Jiading.

With the promise of building 149 green zones within three years, Jiading is working all out to accomplish the target.

So far, Aksu road landscape belt project, Zi Qi Dong Lai landscape project, and New Town forest belt project around the district are all completed.

People cannot only enjoy walking along the river but also appreciate the beautiful scenery on both sides of it.

In addition, Dongyun Street sightseeing river channel is almost completed. It is 470 meters long with trees and flowers planted along the sides, making it a relaxing venue. Jiading New Town Lotus Base is the entrance to the forest belt around the New Town. In the shape of a crescent, it occupies an area of 44.5 hectares.

Generally speaking, wintersweets should be in bloom in winter. But, the US variety of wintersweet and wild winter sweet flowers planted in this garden are well in bloom in April. The counter-seasonal blooms can be credited to researchers in the garden and visitors can enjoy the flowering wintersweet all year round.

It is charming when walking in the sunshine enjoying the wonderful spring views to suddenly come across the flowering wintersweet.
